Matri means mothers’ and Prochesta Means endeavours. We noticed that the women have their intentions and abilities to create some things for their lives like doing a small business or purchasing small items for their families or to support their children in education or for urgent treatment or to repair their huts or to make their life situation a bit better by improving their kitchen but they do not have the scope to access the credit that can support their necessities.
Hence we created a micro savings facility for them and subsequently we started giving them loans as and when they asked for.
The programme has more than 125 groups consisting of 1500 members in total who regularly take loans and refund the same. We give about 600 loans which increase every year with growing membership. There are 7 volunteers working in this programme. It runs 6 days in a week. The volunteers run the programme through monthly group meetings. The members are very happy with the service they receive and the purpose it serves.
